Peaks and Valleys Soars in Million

TORONTO — Peaks and Valleys won the Molson Million on Sunday at Woodbine, beating Queen’s Plate winner Regal Discovery by 2 1/2 lengths in the Grade I stakes for 3-year-olds.
“He was just like a gazelle today,” jockey Julie Krone said.
Peaks and Valleys earned $600,000 for owner Josephine Abercrombie of Versailles, Ky., to increase his career earnings to $1.18 million.
Regal Discovery, owned by Vancouver Canuck goalie Kirk McLean and his wife Lesley and her parents, finished 1 1/4 lengths ahead of third-place finisher Mt. Sassafras in the 11-horse field.
