Hoover 17, South Pasadena 7--Hoover converted two first-half interceptions into touchdowns in a victory at Glendale High.

The Tornadoes (1-1) took a 7-0 lead on a seven-yard touchdown run by Marco Ibrahim in the first quarter. The touchdown followed an 11-yard interception return to the nine by lineman Harmir Simonian.

A second-quarter inteception by Jin Hur helped set up Hoover’s second touchdown, a 24-yard pass by sophomore quarterback Welser Maltez to tight end Bryan Olsen.
