Littlerock 24, Serrano 22--Littlerock gained 300 yards, most of it behind a 218-yard rushing performance by tailback Lafayette Bailey, but had to run out the clock to preserve a victory at Serrano. Bailey scored four touchdowns.
Littlerock was hurt by two early blocked punts, one returned for a touchdown by Serrano’s Dan Richardson, as the Diamondbacks built a 14-12 first-half lead behind the passing of quarterback Lance Hankins (four of nine and one touchdown) and the running of tailback Michael Carmona.
The Lobos led, 24-14, after Bailey scored his fourth touchdown with 11:03 left to play. Serrano rallied to cut the lead to 24-22 when Carmona scored with 9:22 left.
Littlerock relied on the running of Bailey on a long drive to run out the clock.
