Valleywide : Leaders Sought for Nature Field Trips
- Share via
The Topanga-Las Virgenes Resource Conservation District is seeking about 15 individuals to lead schoolchildren on nature field trips through the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area and Malibu Lagoon.
“They have to enjoy working with kids,” program administrator Meg Wiedlin Inkeles said, “and they have to have a love of nature or else they’d find it boring.”
Participants will lead groups of children through a variety of educational activities, including bird walks, water-quality sampling, and the study of insects and plankton. Tour leaders receive a $30 stipend per outing, Inkeles said.
Classes will begin Sept. 13 at Malibu Lagoon; Sepulveda Basin classes will begin Oct. 11. For more information, call (310) 455-1449.
