MISSION HILLS — A 21-month-old boy drowned after he somehow made his way through a chain-link fence into the family swimming pool, authorities said.
The boy was found by his father about 5:50 p.m. in the pool in the 16200 block of Rinaldi Street, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said. Moises Torres, a 911 dispatcher, directed the father in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child. Paramedics took the boy to Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:30 p.m.
