OUTLOOK
Sunny Hills is another team that wants the Freeway to be as wide open as it was last year; otherwise, the Lancers could have difficulty forcing another three-way tie for the league championship. At the offensive skill positions, there is strength. Garand (1,776 yards, 11 touchdowns) is a proven passer although he needs to cut down the interceptions (17). Velotta (626 yards) is a capable runner if not a confounding one. They, along with Oliver (29 catches, 248 yards), will be the foundation upon which Sunny Hills builds. After that it gets murky; only six of the 20 returning lettermen have extensive varsity experience. The defense--which gave up 176 points, tying Troy for second fewest in the league--has the most question marks, followed by the offensive line. Both have to grow up fast if Sunny Hills is going to be part of the mix.
