OUTLOOK
Seven will either be the lucky or unlucky number for the Raiders--it’s the number of people on an offensive line, and that’s the most inexperienced unit for Sonora. “We have talent there,” Takkinen said. “What they lack is varsity playing time as a unit; they played together on the freshman and JV teams.” Otherwise the Raiders are ready to defend the league title they shared with Fullerton, Buena Park and Sunny Hills. Among the school-record 65 players Takkinen will suit up--including 44 juniors and no sophomores--is Rodriguez (1,551 yards, 12 touchdowns), a two-time all-league selection who ranked seventh among county passers. Brass and Escobar combined for 1,272 rushing yards. Ringl anchors a solid defense.
