A fugitive suspected of robbing nearly two dozen banks in Los Angeles County in the last two months is believed to be the same man who robbed three banks in Beverly Hills this week, police said Thursday.
John Earl Wright, 35, has been identified by the FBI as the assailant in a string of armed bank robberies dating back to June 21 in Hollywood. Law enforcement officials have dubbed Wright the “White Bag Bandit” because he reportedly carries his loot away in a white plastic bag.
On Thursday, Beverly Hills police identified Wright as the suspect in three armed robberies this week, a police spokesman said.
