A proposal to nearly double the size of the Mt. Sinai Temple at Beverly Glen and Wilshire boulevards will be considered by the Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday.
The council’s planning and land-use management committee has recommended approval of the proposal, which calls for construction of a 528-car parking lot, 23 classrooms, an auditorium and a rooftop playground.
Some area residents concerned about increased traffic and noise have opposed the expansion.
