Steam Train Explodes; 3 Crewmen Injured

GARDNERS, Pa. — A steam engine pulling an excursion train with 300 passengers exploded in rural south-central Pennsylvania, injuring three crewmen.
All three suffered burns and one was critically injured in the accident Friday night. No passengers were injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating the cause of the explosion on the Gettysburg Steam Railroad train. The train was on the return portion of a round-trip dinner excursion from Gettysburg to Mt. Holly Springs.
