HUNTINGTON PARK : Police Put Brakes on Car-Theft Rate
The Automobile Club of Southern California and the California Highway Patrol honored 11 Huntington Park police officers for recovering 363 stolen vehicles and making 108 related arrests in the last two years.
In the past, the city was known as the “car theft capital of the world,” said Councilwoman Rosario Marin.
“This is a message to the criminals out there that we are going to catch them if they come to Huntington Park.”
From 1990 to 1993, the latest figures available from the National Crime Bureau, car thefts in Huntington Park dropped 3.5%.
