Down With Debt Gets 1995 Start in Vessels Trials
Down With Debt, the World Champion racing quarter horse in 1994, will make her 1995 debut Friday night at Los Alamitos when she starts in the second of two trials to the $140,000 Vessels Maturity.
Owned by George Haddad of Costa Mesa, Down With Debt raced exclusively at Los Alamitos last year and won six of seven starts, including the Vessels Maturity. Her only loss came in the $250,000 Champion Of Champions, in which she finished fourth to Refrigerator.
Down With Debt is trained by Charlie Bloomquist and will be ridden by John Creager, the national riding champion in 1994.
Twenty older horses will contest two trials to the Vessels, with the horses with the 10 fastest times returning for the June 30 finale.
