Joshua A. Dean, a 19-year-old Garden Grove resident, has been selected Golden West College’s outstanding student for 1995.
Dean will receive the annual R. Dudley Boyce Outstanding Student Award during the college’s commencement ceremonies Thursday at 6 p.m. on the campus quad. The Boyce award is given annually by the Associated Students of Golden West College to the student “who most exemplifies the qualities of scholarship and leadership.”
Named after the founding president of the college, the Boyce award also grants the winner a $1,500 scholarship.
Dean, who has a 4.0 grade point average, has served as the elected student advocate for the community college. His position made him responsible for helping fellow students resolve problems with campus policies and procedures.
