THOUSAND OAKS : European Exchange Students Seek Hosts
A group of German and French high school students visiting Thousand Oaks this summer are seeking host families to provide them with food, housing and companionship.
Organizers said six to 10 students age 15 to 18 will be in Thousand Oaks from July 5 to 26. The students, members of Exchange Scholars Franco-Allemands, hope to improve their English and learn about American culture.
“They’re just real nice kids,” local organizer Jerry Cowan said. “They’re not the kind of kids that are going to get homesick and spoil your good time.”
Host families with teen-age children are best, and the stay could result in an invitation to visit the students at their homes in Europe, Cowan said.
