Government to Fine Film Pirates: The Nanjing Audio & Video Publishing House and the Guangdong Audio & Video Publishing House, two state publishing companies that pirated the recent movie “The Fugitive,” will be fined for infringing the copyright of U.S. entertainment company Warner Bros. Pictures, the New China News Agency reported. Beijing is eager to show that it is enforcing a pact on copyright laws that it signed with Washington in February under threat of U.S. trade sanctions amounting to $1 billion.
