Topical Tropicals--Oak Canyon Nature Center will offer a program on rain forests on Saturday at 10 a.m. The class is open to all ages. Families are encouraged to attend.
The program will focus on identifying the plants and animals found in tropical rain forests and where these tropical areas are located.
Students will also learn how an artificially changed habitat can affect wildlife. The program, which will be led by a naturalist, may include a hike through Oak Canyon, science or arts projects, and hands-on interaction with birds and other animals.
Since classes fill up quickly, preregistration is suggested. To sign up for the class, call (714) 998-8380.
To get to Oak Canyon Nature Center, take the Riverside Freeway to the Imperial Highway turnoff. Exit and head south to Nohl Ranch Road. Turn left and travel about three miles to Walnut Canyon Road, and turn left again. Pass the Anaheim Hills Golf Course; the nature center is at the end of the road.
