HUNTINGTON BEACH : Art Center to Open Store and Gallery
The Huntington Beach Art Center will open its store and gallery May 20.
The Art Center store will offer books, artist-made books and “zines,” similar to magazines or comic books that specialize in a single theme. Artist-made books combine original visuals and writing.
The gallery will spotlight Southern California artists. The first exhibit will feature artist Carrie Ungerman’s Scribbles and Doodles, a wall display of drawings like those typically found on scratch pads.
At the opening, which free to the public and will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m., artists Linda J. Albertano, Paul Body and Julie Ritter will present their poetry.
The Art Center is at 538 Main St.
