Tuesday’s Election
Voters in the 35th state Senate District will go to the polls Tuesday in a special election to fill a seat left vacant when Marian Bergeson became a county supervisor.
The two candidates are Democrat Madelene Arakelian, a businesswoman from Newport Beach, and Assemblyman Ross Johnson (R-Placentia). The 35th District includes Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Irvine, La Palma, Laguna Beach, Lake Forest, Los Alamitos, Santa Ana, Stanton, Tustin and Westminster.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. For elections information call the registrar of voters office at (714) 567-7600
