PREP NOTES : Sunny Hills Basketball Coach Pierce Announces Resignation
- Share via
Sunny Hills boys’ basketball Coach Bob Pierce resigned his position Wednesday because of a conflict with school administrators.
Pierce, who had been at Sunny Hills two years, didn’t like the changes that were taking place in the administration and feels he was treated unfairly.
“It wasn’t the right situation for me to be in to advance,” Pierce said. “I think I did a good job there with the talent I had, but you need to feel like you are wanted or there is no point being there. There are too many other opportunities out there.”
“I was unfairly criticized. I thought I was the model coach, yet the administration says I was the bad one.”
Pierce, who coached five years at Southern California College and has done some coaching in Japan, said he has applied for the Newport Harbor job and others.
