CYPRESS : Members Sought for City Panels
The city is seeking applicants for two new land-use advisory committees, which will make recommendations to the City Council on use of land in redevelopment areas.
One advisory committee would study land use on city redevelopment land in the area of Orange Avenue and Walker Street. The other advisory group would examine possible uses for property in the Lincoln Avenue redevelopment area.
City officials hope to have at least 30 residents serving on each committee.
The two groups would meet as often as needed with city staff, officials said. The committees would serve for about six months.
The only requirement for the Orange Avenue-Walker Street advisory group is that applicants be Cypress residents.
The requirements for the Lincoln Avenue advisory committee are that applicants be Cypress residents and owners of businesses or property on Lincoln Avenue.
“Diverse interests are important,” said a city spokesman. “All those interested are encouraged to apply.”
Application forms may be obtained from the personnel office at City Hall, 5275 Orange Ave., Mondays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. June 2.
