New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman will speak at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Friday, launching a new lecture series aimed at showcasing top conservative policy-makers, library officials said.
Elected in November, 1993, Whitman--New Jersey’s first female governor--pledged to cut state income taxes by 30%. A moderate pro-choice Republican, Whitman was selected to deliver her party’s response to President Clinton’s State of the Union message.
Tickets to the 1 p.m. lecture at the Reagan Library are $20. On Thursday, Whitman will speak at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda. She will give a 10:30 a.m. lecture on the anniversary of Nixon’s funeral.
