Continental Joins Ticketless Travel Trend: The Houston-based airline introduced a program that allows passengers to make reservations and select seats through an automated ticket machine. Through the new E-Ticket system, developed by Continental Airlines, Electronic Data Systems and AT&T; Global Information Solutions, a customers slides a credit card into a machine resembling an automated teller machine. The customer can then book reservations, retrieve boarding passes, check flight times and prices and, in some case, receive luggage tags, a Continental spokeswoman said. Continental’s announcement follows Southwest Airlines’ move to ticketless travel in January. United and Delta also use the paper-free system on some flights.
