Innkeepers Happier in February

Average hotel room occupancy in Orange County rose by 7.7% during February even though room rates fell slightly, according to a Los Angeles hotel consulting group.
An average of 64.1% of the hotel rooms available on any given night in the county were filled in February, compared to 59.5% last year, according to PKF Consulting, which conducts the monthly survey. The average room rate was $77.23, down 1.8% from $78.63 for the same period last year.
Anaheim, North Orange County and South Orange County hotels reported strong monthly increases, while the John Wayne Airport area was off slightly.
