Thomas M. Li Named Vice President at Hycor

* Thomas M. Li has been appointed vice president, research and development for Hycor Biomedical Inc., an Irvine developer of medical and diagnostic products. Before joining Hycor, he held research and development management positions at the Syva Co., Syntex Medical Diagnostics, Allergenetics and Miles Laboratories.

* Eric G. Shield has been named vice president, builder services for First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana. Shield, who has been with the company since 1979, has been a district manager, subdivision consultant and assistant vice president, subdivision sales manager. He has worked with Southern California customers for builder services since 1985.

* Betty Emery has been appointed vice president of corporate services for Earle M. Jorgensen Co., a Brea metals distributor. She was formerly director of administration.

* John J. Rette has joined Prospect Medical in Yorba Linda as executive director. He was previously director of medical group development at United Western Medical Centers.

* Kenneth Burke has joined AmeriQuest Technologies Inc., an Irvine computer products distributor, as a senior vice president. He is also general manager of CMS Enhancements, a wholly owned subsidiary of AmeriQuest. Burke was previously with Mountain Network Solutions. In addition, John M. Faiman has been named vice president, U.S. sales. For the past two years, Faiman had been in charge of sales for National Computer Distributors, which was acquired by AmeriQuest last November. John Higgins was appointed senior vice president of marketing and purchasing after holding a similar position at National Computer. AmeriQuest also said that Carol Miltner, who had been executive vice president of sales and marketing, resigned and will reestablish her training and consulting businesses.

* Thomas J. Raymond has joined Electronic Mortgage Banc Ltd. in Huntington Beach as executive vice president and will oversee the institutional lending division. He was previously president and chief executive of Members Capital Corp., which is merging with Electronic Mortgage.

* Philip Klement has joined Toto Kiki USA Inc. in Orange as a regional sales manager. He was formerly a sales executive with the plumbing and specialty products division of Kohler in its Dallas regional office. Toto Kiki is a subsidiary of Toto Ltd., Japan, a manufacturer of plumbing products.

* Erin Davern has been appointed account executive, public relations for Roberts, Mealer & Co. Advertising & Public Relations in Santa Ana. Before joining the agency, she was public relations account executive for Lenac, Warford & Stone Advertising and Public Relations in Newport Beach.

* Jim Harr has been appointed director of purchasing for Ingram Micro Inc., a Santa Ana wholesale distributor of microcomputer products. Before joining Ingram, he was account manager for Intel Corp. and national account manager for Panasonic.

* Ron Ellis has been appointed vice president of worldwide sales for Platinum Software Corp. in Irvine. Before joining Platinum, Ellis was vice president of sales for Tesseract Corp., where he was responsible for consulting and license revenue.

* Helaine Ashton has been made a partner in the law firm of Kimball, Tirey & St. John. She has been the managing attorney of the Newport Beach office for the past six years.

* Aubrey P. Walton has been named vice president and manager of the Orange branch office of Marine National Bank. Before joining the bank, he was vice president of Sunwest Bank. Walton was also vice president and manager of California City Bank in Orange.

* Ronald P. Quagliara has been appointed vice president, research and development at Emulex Corp., a Costa Mesa computer products manufacturer. He was formerly vice president and general manager of Ascom Timeplex Inc. unit. Also, Thomas A. Volden, has joined the company as director of network access engineering and will assume responsibility for the development of intelligent wide-area network adapters and communications servers. He previously directed product development at Ascom Timeplex. Jay O’Donald has been appointed vice president, advanced engineering, and will lead development efforts for the company’s new emerging technology sectors.

* Anthony E. Norkus has been named vice president of sales for I-Flow Corp., an Irvine manufacturer of medical infusion systems. Prior to his appointment, he was director of domestic sales and marketing. He joined I-Flow in 1991 after serving as product director of infusion devices and district sales manager for the Strato Medical division of Pfizer Hospital Medical Products.
