CYPRESS : Racers Take to Streets, but in a Small Way

A go-cart-sized auto race, free to spectators, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today on various streets near Katella Avenue and Valley View Street.

Called the Mini Grand Prix, the event is a fund-raiser sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. Entrants in the race pay donations to the foundation.

The racing vehicles will be go-carts powered by 3 1/2-horsepower engines. Speeds will be about 25 m.p.h.
