ANAHEIM : Couple Dead in Clash Involving Knife, Gun
A married couple were dead Friday after an altercation in which both received knife wounds and the man apparently shot himself in the head, police said.
Louis Gonzales, 28, called 911 about 11 p.m. Thursday, Anaheim police said, after telling a relative by telephone that his wife had attacked him with a knife. Arriving at the couple’s home in an unincorporated area near Anaheim, police found Gonzales near death in a bedroom with a gunshot wound in his head, as well as cuts and slashes on his body. They also found Gonzales’ wife, Cordelia, 27, dead from an apparent knife wound.
Gonzales was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Autopsies on the couple were scheduled Friday.
Police spokesman Lt. Tom Garner said the couple’s two children were taken to stay with their grandparents.
