VAN NUYS : Grant High Hosts Multicultural Fair
To promote racial harmony on campus, Grant High School in Van Nuys will host a Multicultural Fair on Friday, culminating a week of activities concentrating on race and ethnicity-related issues.
The fair, which will be open to the public, will feature booths offering foods from different cultures.
Bluegrass music, folklorico dance and a demonstration of Filipino martial arts will be provided for entertainment, said Michael Denman, student activities director at Grant.
“This happens to be a very diverse school--Latinos, Asians, Armenians,” he said.
During the week, a survivor of the Holocaust will visit the students, Denman said.
The fair will take place between 12:15 and 2 p.m.
