New Jersey, Dallas Deal Centers : Hockey: Millen and Broten switch teams; Sharks trade Errey; Ducks send down Karpov.
The Dallas Stars traded center Neal Broten to the New Jersey Devils on Monday for center Corey Millen.
Millen will join the Stars for their game tonight in Winnipeg.
“We’re looking for a spark in our offensive game,” said Bob Gainey, the Stars’ general manager and head coach. “To get that, we’ve had to give up a valuable player in another area.”
Broten played for the Stars for 14 years, and was an All-Star in 1983 and 1986.
Millen, a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1984 and 1988, had two goals and three assists in 17 games this season.
Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks, losers of five in a row, traded captain Bob Errey, 30, to Detroit for a fifth-round draft choice. Errey, a left wing, had only two goals and two assists in 13 games this season.
