Pollution Research Earnings Down in Quarter
Pollution Research & Control Corp., a Glendale maker of devices that measure air pollution, said its earnings in the fourth quarter that ended Dec. 31 were $133,000, down 27% from $182,000 in net income in the fourth quarter of 1993. Sales were $1.48 million for the quarter, down 13% from $1.70 million in the year-earlier period.
For the full year, Pollution Research had a loss of $101,000, compared with earnings of $1.07 million in 1993. The loss was on a 23% decline in annual revenue, to $5.13 million from $6.62 million.
The company said sales and earnings declined in 1994 because of a price war with competitors that heated up midyear.
