Seniors: Bill Would Lower Fuel Bills
State Sen. Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica) has introduced legislation to lower the fuel bills of seniors who have life-threatening diseases.
The bill would modify an existing law to include elderly and low-income people suffering from AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses.
“California has a compassionate program in place for people living with a variety of diseases that require them to keep their homes warmer or cooler than other consumers,” Hayden said in a written statement. “It’s time that we extended this program to others with compromised immune systems, cancer, AIDS or other life-threatening diseases.”
