Education: Math Teacher Wins Honor
A local teacher has won the Santa Monica Junior Chamber of Commerce’s Outstanding Young Educator Award.
James Hecht, 29, a Santa Monica High School math teacher, was selected on the recommendation of parents, students, administrators and fellow teachers.
“I believe here at Santa Monica High School I am surrounded by a lot of outstanding teachers,” Hecht said. “I feel I am accepting the award on behalf of all (Santa Monica High School) teachers.”
