Brother Held After Girl’s Body Found
RIALTO — The body of a missing 10-year-old Fontana girl was found in an orange grove Thursday, and her 19-year-old brother was arrested after he allegedly provided information that led to the grim discovery.
Police declined to say how Rosemary Banuelos was slain or what the motive may have been.
The girl was first reported missing Sunday, and scores of volunteers joined the search for her earlier this week. A truck toured the city of Rialto bearing a large, multilingual sign seeking information about the disappearance.
Police said their attention had focused on the girl’s brother, Jaime Banuelos, by Wednesday, and a search of the family home turned up a pair of bloodstained pants. Investigators said the body was found after Jaime Banuelos told them that he had last seen his sister when he dropped her off at the orange grove.
