Los Angeles Police Open Local Service Center in San Pedro
The Harbor Division of the Los Angeles Police Department officially opened its third community police service center last week.
The center at 368 W. 7th St. will bring police in closer touch with the San Pedro community, said Sgt. Dan Pugel.
“The center puts a visible police presence in the community,” he said. “It puts the officers in a more approachable location.”
Two volunteers and one uniformed police officer will staff the center, which has been operating for about a month, Pugel said.
The division’s other substations are in Wilmington and Harbor City.
