TEMPLE-BEAUDRY : Free Class Offered in Spanish Literacy
- Share via
Free literacy classes for Spanish speakers are offered at the Betty Plasencia School.
The classes, sponsored by the Centro Latino de Educacion Popular, which for three years has been teaching Latinos to read and write in their own language, are held Mondays through Thursdays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The school is at Temple Street and Edgeware Road. The course will run through Nov. 1, but students who begin late may graduate after that date.
Centro Latino de Educacion Popular also offers a literacy class in the Westlake area’s Mary Andrews Clark Residence during the same hours. There are also plans for a daytime class in the Echo Park Library beginning in March.
