HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Burroughs Boys Are Not Fit to Be Tied
Jesus Diaz scored two goals and Miguel Meneses added another as Burroughs beat Burbank, 3-0, in a Foothill League match Thursday at Burbank High.
The match was the third meeting of the season between the teams, who had tied 1-1 and 0-0.
Diaz has 20 goals in the 15 games he has played for the Indians (13-3-5, 6-0-3). Goalie Gustavo Palomares made three saves in extending his undefeated streak to 12 games.
Brett Baker made 12 saves for the Bulldogs (7-9-4, 1-5-3).
Reseda 2, Grant 0--William Diaz and Luis Nunez scored for the Regents in the Valley Pac-8 Conference match.
Diaz’s goal was his team-high 18th.
Moorpark 5, Nordhoff 2--Forward Pat Russo scored three goals for the Musketeers in a Frontier League match. Russo has scored a team-high 18 goals.
Florencio Amezcua scored 25 minutes into the second half for Moorpark (11-5-5, 3-1-2), which led, 2-1, at halftime.
Village Christian 3, Kilpatrick 2--Tony Yousif scored two goals for the Crusaders (8-5-2, 4-1-1) in an Alpha League match.
Ignacio Brache scored the Crusaders’ first goal to tie the score, 1-1, just before halftime.
GIRLS
Crescenta Valley 3, Arcadia 1--Michele Cena scored at the 60-minute mark to break a 1-1 tie and Stephanie Rigamat added another 10 minutes later for the Falcons in the Pacific League match.
Crescenta Valley (14-1-3, 6-0-1) is 8-0-2 in its last 10 matches.
