In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 2, Rancho Alamitos 1--Polly Chittenden’s second goal of the game with 10 minutes left broke a 1-1 tie for host Garden Grove (7-8-2, 6-3-1).
In the Golden West League:
Ocean View 6, Santa Ana 0--Kim Engesser had three goals and Jenae Veal had two goals for visiting and sixth-ranked Ocean View (17-1-2, 8-0). Engesser has 36 goals this season, 98 in her career.
Rosary 4, Saddleback 0--Liz Schilling scored twice to pace the host Royals (9-3-1, 4-2).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 0, University 0--Jill Krupoff had six saves and hasn’t given up a goal in league play for University (7-5-5, 5-0-3).
In the Sea View League:
Irvine 1, Woodbridge 1--Heather Cowen scored a goal for Woodbridge (4-13-2, 0-8-2) and Katie Roda scored for fourth-ranked Irvine (14-3-5, 4-1-3).
In the South Coast League:
Mater Dei 0, Trabuco Hills 0--Amanda Fox had five saves and recorded her fourth shutout in five league games for eighth-ranked Mater Dei (9-5-5, 2-0-3). Ricia Gonnering had four saves for No. 10 Trabuco Hills (15-4-2, 2-2-2).
In the Sunset League:
Marina 2, Fountain Valley 1--Top-ranked Marina (14-0-1, 6-0-1) defeated fourth-ranked Fountain Valley (16-3-3, 3-2-2) with first-half goals by Megan Orach and Kristen Palmer.
Edison 2, Los Alamitos 0--Tami Letterman and Annie Benington scored and Ali Nadler provided the shutout in goal as the Chargers (6-8-4, 3-3-1) upset third-ranked Los Alamitos (14-5-2, 4-3-1).
In Empire League wrestling:
Cypress 33, El Dorado 25--Trailing 27-25 going into the final match, heavyweight David Wheeler pinned his opponent to to lead Cypress into second place.
Loara 43, Kennedy 30--Loara’s Anthony Pham (114 pounds), pinned Kennedy’s Richie Carillo in 2:31 to lead eight-ranked Loara (13-1, 5-0), which clinched the league title.
In Orange League wrestling:
Anaheim 54, Western 10--Anaheim’s Jose Rodriguez pinned Western’s Art Long in 40 seconds at 147 to lead fourth-ranked Anaheim (25-2, 5-0) to the league title. Western is 13-4, 4-1.
In Sunset League wrestling:
Esperanza 28, Los Alamitos 25--The Aztecs won their first league title since 1991 by winning seven of 13 matches. Matt Flake, Pete Schmidt and Zack Jackson won narrow decisions to lead eighth-ranked Esperanza (16-2, 5-0).
In Sea View League wrestling
Irvine 44, Newport Harbor 20--Warren Brown, Peter Hamilton and Justin Meier each pinned his opponent for Irvine (13-1, 5-0), which clinched the league title.
