Cuba Gets Foreign Backing for Beer Export Venture: The government signed an investment accord with Britain this week for the marketing company it has set up to sell and promote Cuban beer internationally. Corporacion Cerveza Clara will sell and market a range of beers brewed by state-owned Havana Rum & Liquors. CCC will promote the beer in Britain, Spain and Canada initially, with plans to eventually expand elsewhere in Europe and Latin America. The beer will not be marketed in the United States, the world’s largest beer market, which maintains a trade embargo that prevents Cuban goods from being sold in this country.
