Delta Realigns U.S. Routes: The Atlanta-based carrier said the restructuring, which takes effect May 1, includes ending service between Los Angeles and Fresno, Phoenix and Reno, but expanding service between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, Honolulu and Anchorage. The changes, which also include adjusting the number of flights to and from Delta Air Lines’ major hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati and Salt Lake City, are part of the airline’s effort to reduce operating costs and generate higher sales. Delta said the changes are not expected to result in additional layoffs.
