PLACENTIA YORBA LINDA : Meetings on School Transfers Scheduled
- Share via
Parents who are considering transferring their children to a school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District are invited to attend informational meetings.
Sessions are scheduled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 to correct misinformation about the requirements and restrictions included in the state’s “school choice” legislation, said Ken Lorge, director of child welfare and attendance.
“A lot of parents think school choice means you can choose any school in any district,” Lorge said. “We scheduled these information nights to explain the restrictions and limitations of the law.”
Information is not yet available on which schools in the district will have room next year for transfer students, Lorge said, but parents can get transfer request forms and information on the transfer process at the meetings.
Both sessions will be at 7 p.m. at the education services center, 4999 Casa Loma Ave.
