WENGEN, Switzerland — Alberto Tomba extended his winning streak to seven consecutive World Cup slalom races, winning in 1.32 seconds on Sunday.
“I don’t know myself how I do it,” the Italian said after winning for the ninth time this season.
“Seven slaloms and two giant slaloms in one season; that’s enormous,” he said after matching his career-best total for an entire season.
With 700 points in the slalom standings, Tomba is almost assured of that title.
