Are Fans Sorry to See Georgia Go? Did Rams Have Winning Season?
If any child today needs a good definition for the word greed, show him the picture on Page 1 of Wednesday’s sports section, with Georgia Frontiere looking like the unprincipled, uncaring “sports executive” she is.
As for us from an older generation, think of Frontiere as the Charles Foster Kane of the NFL. And Carroll Rosenbloom’s Rams are her Rosebud.

The Rams are leaving and Georgia says, “Where did I go wrong?” I’ll give you a list: Kevin Greene, Duval Love, James Washington, among others, all deemed not fit to wear the vaunted Ram colors. How about John Robinson’s inspired trade of Eric Dickerson? How about stupid, wasted draft picks such as Mike Schad, Aaron Cox and Wayne Gandy, just to name a few? Finally, the icing on the cake, the acquisition of weak-kneed and battered Chris Miller.
It’s too bad we can’t keep the team and send Georgia to St. Louis.

So Georgia is leaving town “with regrets,” and life imitates art. Anyone who watched the movie “Major League” knows the plot:
--Owner dies, wife wants to move franchise.
--Wife hires the most incompetent coach and players she can find in hopes of turning the team into a disaster.
Same script, but at least the movie featured capable acting.

Two thoughts on the Rams’ move:
--Georgia thinks even if they were in the Super Bowl, the Rams still wouldn’t have good fan support in Anaheim. And they say blondes are dumb.
--I heard one of the main sticking points in the deal was that they still wanted to be called the Los Angeles Rams.

Now that the Rams have fled Los Angeles, shouldn’t they change their name to the St. Louis Scrams?

If St. Louis is willing to give away the store to get the lame-sheep Rams, why couldn’t they have held onto the Cardinals?

In Wednesday’s Times, John Shaw is quoted as saying that new part-owner Stan Kroenke “will have no say in the football operation.”
Wake up, St. Louis! Shaw’s going to do to you what he did to Save the Rams. What did you do wrong, Georgia? You let Shaw run the organization into the ground.
P.S. Doesn’t Shaw look like that kid you went to school with who you wanted to beat the tar out of because of his cocky attitude?

St. Loser’s take note: In articles about the Rams’ move, Georgia Frontiere was quoted as saying, “I don’t know what to do” and “I’m not a fighter.” John Shaw was quoted as saying, “We will try to put together a good product.”
You want to pay these two for the privilege (cost: $4,500) of buying season tickets?

Good luck, Insane Louis: We’ll enjoy the extra game on TV.

All of these people who make up the Save the Rams team should direct their money, power and influence to perhaps saving Orange County. Come on, guys, let’s prioritize your efforts into something productive. Let St. Louis have them.

In order to get the Rams to move there in 1980, Anaheim Stadium was enclosed, ruining an attractive stadium. Now that they are bugging out on the deal, will the Rams pay to have these stands torn down so the stadium can be returned to its previous appearance?
Don’t hold your breath.

Angel owner Jackie Autry says that gender discrimination is the reason her team and the Rams don’t succeed. Both owners are indeed female. Another similarity, terrible management, is the real reason for their failures.
The Angels have had a plethora of general managers over the years. The Rams have done just the opposite: The last time anyone held their general manager position was 1981. If they had had a competent football person, they would have ridden the Eric Dickerson trade to the upper echelon of the NFL.
When will these owners learn that good management is the key to success? Quality general managers assemble talented teams that win. And winning clubs produce handsome profits.
