Contest to Honor Student Inventors

More than 250 students are expected to compete today in the eighth annual Astounding Inventions of the Future at Irvine Valley College.

Inventions created by students from elementary and middle schools in Irvine, Laguna Beach and Tustin school districts were selected from 2,000 entries for the annual competition, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. in the Computer Sciences and Technologies Building, the Physical Sciences Building and the campus courtyard.

The event is held to promote mathematics and science education and will feature actor Ed Metzger performing “Close Encounters With Einstein.”
