PACOIMA : Stabbing Victim’s Roommates Sought
Police on Friday were searching for the roommates of a man found bound, gagged and stabbed to death in his home.
Wilfrido Gomez, 26, was found dead Thursday afternoon in the small bungalow he rented behind a house in the 13800 block of Louver Street. Gomez’s landlady, Marta Romero, said she was going to the rear of her house to do laundry when she noticed the door to the house was ajar, with mail spilling out.
She looked inside and saw Gomez’s body trussed up next to a pile of beer cans, she said.
Gomez’s two roommates, Arturo Godines and Reynaldo Pineda, were nowhere to be seen, Romero said.
Romero said the three construction workers had been renting the two-person unit from her family for six months.
Neighbors said they hadn’t seen the residents of the rear unit since Jan. 12. Gomez was killed relatively recently, Detective Frank Bishop said, adding that the motive was unclear.
