United Way Seeking Teams of Volunteers

The United Way of Ventura County is seeking volunteers to help give away the money it raises.
Twenty teams of volunteers will work during March, April and May to evaluate more than 60 agencies on program effectiveness, financial management and need for United Way funding.
The volunteers will review applications, visit program sites and meet with agency representatives, United Way officials said.
Officials said the total time commitment is 25 to 30 hours, beginning in March.
“This is an opportunity for citizens to learn about current and newly emerging needs in the community and to gain valuable insight into the efforts of human care agencies meeting these needs,” spokeswoman Donna Richards said.
To volunteer, call the United Way at 485-6288 before Jan. 27.
