Nation IN BRIEF : NATIONWIDE : Poll Gives Clinton Edge Over Gingrich

Despite President Clinton’s shaky popularity rating, he still outpolls House Speaker Newt Gingrich in a test election for the White House, according to a Newsweek survey. The magazine polled 757 adults Thursday and Friday, and found that 46% of those asked would vote for Clinton and 31% would vote for Gingrich if the 1996 presidential contest came down to a choice between the two.
