More Rain Expected Today, but Forecast Calls for Dry Monday
Storm-weary Orange County residents may roll their eyes to heaven at the prospect of more rain, but if they do so today, they’re likely to get soaked.
Forecasters said the precipitation that began late Saturday is likely to continue throughout the day, and will drop an estimated 1 to 2 inches more on the saturated county before turning to showers and tapering off by evening.
“The rain will be lighter than you’ve had in the last couple of weeks,” said Kris Farnsworth, a meteorologist for WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times. “It won’t be totally miserable rain all day, the way it has been. We’re looking at a 40% chance of rain throughout (today).”
But there is a silver lining, Farnsworth said. Monday should be rain-free, with at least occasional glimpses of the sun through the cloud cover. And there is little likelihood of more rain, at least through Wednesday.
