SEASON AT A GLANCE: Cooper, who led Ventura County in scoring last season as a sophomore at Royal, has been the key player for a 13-3 Simi Valley team. After a slow start, she has increased her averages to 16.3 points and 10 rebounds. She also leads the Pioneers in blocked shots (15) and free throw percentage (75.9%). Thursday night, she returns to play against Royal for the first time since transferring last spring.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Cooper was dominant in two Marmonte League routs. She had 28 points and nine rebounds in a 72-37 victory over Agoura, then made 14 of 17 shots and scored 33 points against Camarillo in an 81-35 blowout. She also added 10 rebounds in that game.
