Magnolia Rallies to Win in Four Overtimes

ANAHEIM HILLS — The Magnolia boys’ basketball team rallied from a 24-point deficit midway through the third quarter to defeat Fullerton, 86-81, in four overtimes Thursday in a consolation-round semifinal of the Canyon tournament.
Amad Shurdim made a three-point basket with three seconds left to tie the score at 61-61 and send the game into overtime.
Josh Reding, who finished with a game-high 26 points after scoring only two in the first half, was fouled during a three-point attempt at the end of the third overtime and made three free throws to tie the score at 78-78.
Reding connected on one of his four three-pointers and Vatha Singbandith hit two free throws in the fourth overtime.
Christopher Young led Fullerton (8-5) with 19 points, including five three-point baskets.
