In the Catalina tournament:
Villa Park 71, Avalon 53--Brent Zakaryan and Eric Chenowith each scored 12 points to lead Villa Park (6-2) in the championship final.
In the Chino Hills Ayala tournament:
Cerritos Valley Christian 68, Liberty Christian 45--Bryan Avery scored 20 points and Greg Rule had 14 rebounds for Liberty Christian (4-7) in the 11th-place game.
In the Encinitas San Dieguito boys’ basketball tournament semifinal game:
Santa Margarita 62, San Diego St. Augustine 56--Ninth-ranked Santa Margarita outscored St. Augustine, 35-28, in the second half. Allen Krist had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Brendan Mulligan had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (9-0).
In the consolation round of the Sacramento Tracy Tournament:
Edison 68, Stockton McClatchy 66--Mike Ogas scored 24 points, Josh Lightman added 13 and Bradley Lisotto 10 to lead Edison (4-6). The Chargers will face Stockton Tracy in the consolation championship at 4:30 p.m. today.
In nonleague boys’ basketball:
Cypress 64, Troy 55--Derek Mitchell scored 19 points to lead 10th-ranked Cypress (9-2).
Honolulu St. Louis 53, El Toro 33--Moody Michael, Mark Wulfemeyer and Travis Senik each scored six points for host El Toro (4-6).
Katella 61, Aliso Niguel 38--Mike Pahl and Carlos Romero each scored 14 points to lead Katella (10-0). Tim Bragasso’s 11 points led Aliso Niguel (4-6).
La Habra 75, Valencia 58--Dan Ploog led four players in double figures for La Habra (5-5) with 25 points and seven rebounds. Kevin Jackley and James Rivera paced Valencia with 12 points each.
Ocean View 73, Marina 54--Dan McDonald had 21 points and nine rebounds and Ali Enriquez added 13 points and five assists to lead Ocean View (6-5).
Santa Ana 54, Santiago 51--Danny Rivero scored 13 points to lead Santa Ana (4-5). Santiago’s Ralph Nelson was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points.
Savanna 49, Kennedy 44--David Draghinas scored 22 points to lead Savanna (8-3). Richie Bowen had 14 points for Kennedy (4-6).
Servite 48, Esperanza 46--David Downs scored eight of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as Servite (7-2) overcame a three-point deficit. Josh Greer had 20 points to lead Esperanza (5-6).
Sonora 61, Magnolia 31--Fifth-ranked Sonora (8-2) jumped to a 32-13 first-half lead. Chad Fister had 16 points and Craig Clark 12 to lead the Raiders.
