CANYON COUNTRY — A motorcyclist was injured Sunday in the aftermath of a traffic accident in which a car ran off the road and knocked down a telephone pole, authorities said. Two people in the car were hurt.
The accident occurred at 8:22 a.m. when the auto went off the west side of Bouquet Canyon Road and sheared off the pole, said Capt. Mike Flocks of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Moments later, one of two motorcycle riders coming from the opposite direction was knocked off his bike when he ran into the power lines across the road, Flocks said.
Both people in the car were airlifted to area hospitals, said Jeff Ziegler, a fire dispatcher. One victim was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. The other was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.
The motorcycle rider was taken to Newhall Memorial by ambulance, Flocks said.
